So long story short I wasn't able to get my boat in early enough to catch the mackerel I need for my traps. I've got a smaller boat so I don't really have the ability to chase them too far out and I definitely don't have the time to chase them around the harbor.

I've got a chest freezer in my basement and I'm looking to buy a tote that I can bag up to the size I want and freeze.

I can remember probably 15 years ago being able to buy totes on the Beverly side of the Beverly bridge real early in the morning but I don't remember anything else.

I'm out of Salem looking for a tote, any help guys?

theres a guy in gloucester that will fill any container or bucket you bring him with herring. you can get salted or unsalted. salted is a little more. i think its $15 for a 5gal bucket of herring. Hes on the state pier. all the way down the end to the right on the water side of the building. heres the website. http://www.capeseafoods.com/index_files/Page985.htm
also, an FYI, i believe a tote is 18 gal. you need to bring the container.
