God what now......
Changed a defective 4210, updated both to the May, 2012 version 7.3. Now when you try to turn the system off, the "turn off entire system" thing does not work. Meaning, only the device you are turning off actually turns off. After you turn off either display, it will not turn on again with the power switch until you cycle the battery switch off, then back on. I tried all combinations, and the units just will not turn on unless you cycle power.
Auto power up feature is "OFF" on all units as it has to be for a boat on a lift (otherwise the sonar starts when the house battery is turned on, potentially damaging the transducer)
Reading up on V7.3, they "fixed" a bug where AIS was inadvertently turnig units off. I am wondering if they broke the network power down or if the hardware was changed on the 4210 in the last couple of years.
Anybody successfully using 7.3 with multiple displays?
I have a 4212 and a 6212, but I only updated to the latest version a couple of days ago. I'll be back at the boat tonight, and can try it out. I usually just use switches to turn power on and off to devices, I don't try to individually power any down using the soft switches.
I'll try it and let you know if it's as you described.

I have a pair of 4210s but I'm running 7.2. The network power down works fine, when I elect to use it, but all my equipment is switched individually anyway.

Yeah, mine worked fine with 7.2 before also.
Don't know if this makes you feel better or not, but you are correct.
When I chose "Power off entire network: Yes", only the 4212 shut down. What's more, I couldn't power the 4212 back on until I threw the switch and reset it.
Sorry about that chief.
But on a positive note for me, Garmin replaced my 24hd for free even though it was out of warranty to fix a "radar service lost" message that became persistent. The new unit is running happily with no errors even though I reused the old network and power cable. Happy me!!!!!:rofl::rofl:
They have GREAT customer service. Log the problem and hopefully the next release will fix it.

I'm running 7.3 with 5 displays and the "turn off entire system" works fine.
I hate it when that happens.....;?

Not sure why yours are working ethan. What models do you have and what are your power up settings?
Garmin is good about fixing things out of warranty and their repair policy is fair. However, with the exception of the "autopilot group", I have never been overly impressed with the people I have spoken to there. Calling them is also a PIA.
So far in the last month I have had two hardware failures and now this power up thing.
Last night I had to try a couple of times to get the displays to start. I had to leave the batt switch off for a full minute before they would start.
I have the 7.3 running on my two 4212's with no issues on the system off.

2 5215s and 1 5208. Boot up one and the whole system comes up. Shut off one and system off option function works fine.

Mine works running a 7212, (2)6212's, 5208 and a 4208 but I know there's a glitch in there somewhere. I've seen it act up during start up when some displays don't come on automatically when one is turned on. Shut down is good for now.
