So I filled the fresh water tank this week and found when it was filled a lot of crud came flushing out. Should I put some bleach to it and let it sit for a few hours then flush it out?

I generally bleach my fresh water tank a couple times a year. It may sound silly, but I figure in the event of engine failure or some strange complication I may be drinking that water till help arrives. It has never harmed anything on my pump or tank and I put in a good amount of bleach, fill and then pump out followed by a repeat fill and pump out with just fresh water.

20 drops of bleach a gal will kill critters. Do the math and add accordingly. Let it sit for a couple of hrs and you will be fine. It will not make you sick but will keep you alive!!!
