My air condition works on the wide open setting but not the first 4 settings. Anybody know what the deal is? Thanks.

If had to guess I would say the blower motor resistor. Without knowing what year it is and wether or not it has climate control, I couldn't tell you with much certainty though.

Blower motor resistor. A pain to get to, but can be done in the driveway ... ;?

Sure sounds like the blower resistor. Check with a dealer as the warranty coverage for alot of them was extended out to 10 years 150,000 miles due to this problem.

GM now has a new part number that is a new resistor and harness for it the part is around 100$, if you get it from a wholesaler . takes about 30 to 40 minutes to change. just make sure that you use the foam spacer that comes with the new resistor so it sits tight in the evap. case.
