I need some help here guys.

I am looking at buying a new daily driver pickup.

Choices are

or

2005 F250 Pickup with the dreaded 6.0l Turbo Diesel 68,000 miles for $19,000

Both trucks are quad cabs and would fit my family's basic needs. I have heard alot about the Ford but not much about the Chevy. So fire away. I am looking to make the purchase after the 4th

Your are comparing apples to oranges. The ford is 3/4ton diesel and chevy is 1/2ton gas.
Either way if it were me, i would take the chevy (even if it had a 4 cylinder, 2wd, holes in cloth seats with springs poking my balls) over the ford.

I've had very good luck with my "dreaded 6.0" (bone stock with 134,000 trouble free miles) but I wouldn't say that it makes a good daily driver family truck. In fact it rides like a lumber wagon and my wife hates it. It does do a great job towing the boat and it's a very capable truck for hauling loads. I would go with the gas 1/2 ton unless you plan to tow something over 7,500 lbs on a regular basis.
