Stay as close to sesame place
As possible. The surrounding towns are kind of shitty. Get there early try and bring your own food and drinks the parks cafeteria is not great. Most of the park is a water park so make sure to dress accordingly. We went last summer and will return this summer we went on a weekend and it was pretty busy, this year we are gonna go on a weekday. The kids do love seeing the characters makes all of the insanity worth it. Have fun.

Thanks, won't be getting there too early about 11 AM or so, but have a 2 day pass so we'll be there early on Tuesday.
Have lunch planned with one or two of the figures. Thanks fo rthe reply.

I worked there for two summers '90-91'. Worst first job I ever had. It's right next to the Oxford Valley mall. As Rival1 said not to many food choices around and back then eating at the park wasn't cheap so I doubt it is now. It's in a very odd location (small footprint with no room to expand)for a park and something I'm sure AB has been regretting since the '80's.
Parents still live a little ways away and every summer day it's usually crowded beyond belief so bring a good positive happy attitude and I'm sure you will get through it.
I'm sure

As someone who has lived in these surrounding towns for 40 years, may I pass along a sincere F**K YOU. Exactly what towns were you touring to come to this conclusion?

08087,
Sounds like you're staying overnight. Sheraton, Red Roof Inn? Regardless, there are plenty of places to eat outside of the park. I wouldn't suggest eating in the park restaurants because they are not cheap. Plus, there are better options all within about a mile.
Uno Chicago Grill
Cheeburger-Cheeburger
Bonefish Grill
Buffalo Wild Wings
Friday's
Red Robin
Mama Mia Trattoria
Sheraton Hotel
A-1 Japanese Steakhouse
Arirang Hibachi Steak & Sushi
Ground Round Grill
Carlucci's Grill
Old Country Buffet
and probably a dozen more without including fast food joints. Granted, Jersey has the best diners in the country, but we have a few here for breakfast that are damned good as well. The Blue Fountain diner is right down teh road on Route 1.
Don't know how you feel about rude people, but be prepared to encounter a lot of them. They bus in people from all over the NE and Canada. It's a friggin mob scene. But since you are staying, as I think, overnight, you can stay in the park later in the day and enjoy it all to yourselves except for some of the locals. They tend to roll the buses out of there by 3pm. There is a daily parade of characters at 7pm, so if you can make it, your kid(s) will enjoy that.

Thanks for all the details, you put some work into this:thumbsup:!
My wife booked the trip so I don't know what hotel we're staying at but it's about 15 miles away from the park (cheaper price) so just a short drive. We plan on hitting the park around 11 am, leave around 3 for lunch and a nap, then back again around 6 PM for the parade and a few rides before bed for the girls. Back again in the AM and departing when ever we get the itch to leave.

Keeping Quakerbridge and Princeton Market within range. She's a smart one. Good luck with her. ;)

Lighten up, Francis I think we stayed in or near Levittown about 5mins from the park. The town and route from it to the park sucked. This year we are staying right next to the park. Sorry if I offended any of our Levittown members.

OK we made it back from a 2 day trip to SP. My god am I tired, glad the foot print was as small as it was. The park is divided nicely into 2 parts. left side water park right side rides that are age appropriate.
The lines were short (Monday/Tuesday), so not much time wasted on line. Be aware that they charge you for everything though once in the park.
Bring in a cell phone and want to go on the water rides? Be ready to pay $19 for a locker (you get $5 back when you return the key). The girls 2 & 4 got hungry and we grabbed a quick bit at the SP cafeteria, 1 hot dog. 1 chic fingers. 2 kids mac and cheese and 4 drinks $42! you get to keep the plastic plates and cups though.
There was enough to choose from in the surrounding area for us to eat nicely for dinner etc..
Next time I'll bring my 6 pack cooler and store it in a locker full of drinks and sandwiches. All in all a nice time but I ain't looking forward to Disney anytime soon!
Thanks again for the advice!
