Going out mako/ tuna hunting at about 2pm today. Thinking of either the star or chicken canyon. Their kinda close so may just hit both. Anyways, here any action at either of them? Any better spots around NJ?

Tom, if you didn't leave yet, there has been a mad dog bluefin bite in the glory hole the past couple days. If your heading to the ledge, you can't beat the Wilmington canyon right now, its on fire. Good luck......

Thanks, we fished about 20miles from the star on a 40ft dropoff. We caught about 6 mako's. 3 Monster bluefish and we fought a 10 ft shark(i think it was a mako we only saw it a few times). We got it up to the boat 5 times but we didn't get it close enough to tail hook it. Once it got to the boat it just kept peeling off.After literally 2 hours it snapped our 80lb line.
