Guys I heard an interesting conversation on Sea Pro Boats, I heard that the original owners have bought the company back from Mercury Marine and will be producing boats by the end of the summer. I knew that there molds were cut up besides the ones that went over to Tide Water. Has anyone else heard this??????

I really hope they come back. They were a great boat with some nice hardware. Probably one of the better boats for the money they were asking.

Tommy Hancock (former owner of Sea Pro) and Dale Martin (former owner of Key West) came together last year and are making the Sportsman boats out of Summerville. Sea Pro is done. Unless Brunswick makes a comeback.... good luck!

Here's a thread about "Sportsman" I posted back in February, with some pics of the boat they had at the Richmond Boat Show.

I have a 238cc that I bought in '03 and it's been a good ride. It would be nice to see them come back and make another go at it but I understand why it went the way it did. The sportsman looks like they haven't used a Sea Pro platform at all, more like a complete redesign with improvements (or at least changes) all around. I really like the "total access hatch" thing they have going on. I hope this might be a sign of what's to come rather than what we've seen in the industry over the past five years or so.

I loved my '04 SV2100cc (the genesis of my screen name) with Johnzuki 140 four. It cruised at 30mph getting over 5 mpg. It handled the seas amazingly well for just 15 degrees of deadrise, very solid hull.

Yeah I love my SV 2100cc I've had it out at the tower and handled just fine you just need to pick your days. I heard that they were going to start production in the old McKee craft facility . The classy thing that I see to the Seapro out on the market today is the Tide Water boats which is owned by one of the previous owners of Seapro , and of couse is the bottom mold design.
