Hi,
I need to replace the sending unit on My 1999 Aquasport Osprey 205. I went to the Wema Website, and that is what I will buy, But I was wondering if anyone knew what size to buy? I would rather remove the current one until the new one shows up? Any one know where to get the info?

Pull your fsu out and measure the depth of the tank at that point. Deduct 1" from the depth of the tank and that should be length of the wema unit.
We usually find the wires are to short to service, so try to leave a little extra so the unit can be pulled in the future without disconnecting the wires.

When the Wema sender arrives, the instillation instructions tell you to connect the black wire to the hot lead and connect the pink wire to the negative or ground. This seems azz backward to the norm and I was confused because usually black in negative and pink/red is positive. But, I called the factory and they said that it doesn't matter which way you connect the wires. So, the moral of the story is; don't be confused like I was, it will work on matter which way you hook-up the wires.
Why would you have any down time? Just remove the old sender with the wires attached and measure the distance to the bottom of the tank. Subtract one (1) inch and re-install the old unit until the new one arrives. When you install the new sender, use heat shrink and liquid tape on the wiring connections. The tops of fuel tanks usually collect water and will corrode your wire connections.

That's because there is no HOT lead on a fuel sendor. Black goes to ground and the pink goes to the gauge. The gauge measures resistance to ground.
