Which transducer would I need to purchase for the Lowrance LMF-400?
Depends on what you want to see. A GPS will provide ground speed data, engine will provide rpm, temp, etc. If you want water temp, water speed, depth, etc you need a transducer to provide that data.
The Airmar P39 is a good bet, but I'm biased as I have one for sale ;)

Do you want transom mount, thru-hull, in-hull? Why don't you start with letting us know what type of data you are looking for (ie, just depth?) then what kind of boat you have.

Disregard my question. I ordered the Lowrance HDS-5 from you last night.
I have restored a 23' 1980 Mako 236 inboard. I was trying to decide on which electronics to go with. So, I decided on the HDS-5.
