We are planning a trip out saturday to rampowell, marlin, beer can area. Went out memorial day weekend and missed 2 billfish. Area was loaded with sharks, Couldnt find the tuna at all. Picked up a few blackfins but that was it.

We plan to leave before daylight saturday morning and make the run out. Hope the weather holds. May be a lil bumpy

I only have a Cobia 256cc w/ twin 150's, looks like the forecast is going to keep me closer to the coast.

Dang I need a bigger boat

I also run a 2006 Regulator 32 out of Orange Beach AL. Where is your home port.

We run out of Pascagoula and keep the boat at Mary Walker Marina in Gautier. Good to see another 32 out there. Dont see many of them on the water.

Will you guys give me your general opinion of the Cobia 256, I've had the boat since Aug of last year and havent had it out much, what are its capabilities, 3-4 ft'rs or less

The boat can probably take more than you can. I'd worry more about your skill level running that rig.

I haven't ridden on that model. It should be a damn nice running boat. With the 21.5 degree aft deadrise it won't cruise in rough water as fast as boats with more deadrise in the stern (regulator, contender, etc.). For 80-100 mile runs I wouldn't go in more than 1-2.

Yellowfins only have a 22 degree deadrise. More to a boats ride than deadrise.
