New to the HPDI. Have an 02, 200 HPDI that is overheating at idle. Have plenty of water coming from the pee hole. If i bring the idle up the high temp alarm turns off and engine cools off. Sound like a bad impeller or Poppet(PRV?) valve? Anyone had this issue before?
Thanks

Poppit valve most likely. Do a search on this forum and you find instructions for cleaning etc. 15 minute job requiring a spanner and may be a screwdriver.

I changed the pressure relief valve ( Poppet?) and seemed to fix the problem. The pee stream is weaker on that motor so i may drop the lower unit and check the impeller too. The motor is smokey and runs rough at idle and low RPM. Do you think it may be a bad low pressure fuel pump or maybe dirty O2 sensor?;?
The boat has twins and the other motor runs great with no smoke.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

change the fuel pumps the smoke will go away

If the O2 is plugged, the motor will run rich. That can cause rough idling and smoke. If the motor idles OK cold but gets rougher as it warms up, that can be a sign of an O2 sensor issue.
