Since Jan 1st 2011 there has been no tide information on my 958. Northstar says that they no longer service this unit. Has anyone found a way of restoring tide information to these units.

I asked the same Question about a year ago. Didn't get a good answer then. I hope somebody can reprogram this unit for the tides. And buying a tide book isn't the answer.

They never fixed the tide issue with a s/w update on the 958 - you'll never get tides on those machines anymore, but otherwise, they're still great units.

I know that with our 1999 vintage Northstar 961, the tide tables ran out in 2009. When we spoke to Northstar, they said the $10,000 unit was "beyond it's useful life" and they did not offer additional programming for the tide tables. Interesting that the 961 owner's manual says the tide tables programmed into the unit are good until 2099, but I guess they forgot to tell the programmers.
