Well on Monday, I pulled the trigger on a deposit at a marina for transient slip for Saturday night. And of course, now the weather looks to have taken a turn for the worse. Considering I would be traveling over early Saturday morning, and returning early afternoon on Sunday, would you chance it or save the deposit for another weekend? Keep in mind, this is my first crossing. With the girlfriend and a 12 year old. I just don't want to get caught up in a storm half way across....
Thanks,
pumpnhard

I would wait until the morning and see how it is. It's only about 30 minutes accrossed and If it gets nasty you can always duck into orient by the sea.

Sun Night...SE winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 1 ft or less.
It's not going to be bad at all, I'm going across tomorrow in a 21 footer. You will be fine. Leave early enough to beat the afternoon weather then shoot back early Sunday morning. It will be glass in the morning.
This looks like a great weekend for this trip. With winds less than 10 knots it will be a nice ride. Have fun Greenport is a cool place.
