Would love to hear from anyone with experience (or an opinion) on a 1995 Key West CC with a 2003 75hp 2 stroke Mercury from Craigslist for $5k. I am looking to run in the OC, MD area (the Assawoman Bay and near shore). My wife and I have an 8 yr old and a 3 yr old.

It is 15' long, looks like it is missing cushions, no leaning post (although I think a cooler was used as the seat behind the cockpit). It is filthy but some clean up would do it nice. Here are a couple of pics the owner sent me.

How does the value seem? NADA has the value between $1700 and $4600.
Was it standard to not have a leaning post on this model?
It seems that it has a fuel tank based on a pic with what appears to be a fuel spot (or are the pole holder protectors?), but then there are gas cans in the back?

Here are a couple of pictures sent to me of the boat.

Any advice would help.

my brother used to own the same model boat. There wasn't a leaning post just a cooler as a seat. The only cushions were on the seat on the bow side of the the console. Also his had an indeck fuel tank. Not sure of the size of the tank, maybe around 30 gals. It was a cool little boat, but just that a LITTLE boat with low free board. Great for fishing the bay solo or with one other guy. With the two of us standing in the stern it would take on water through the scuppers. My father sold the boat & trailer down in FL with a blown engine for less then a grand last year. Also, it was powered by a 50 hp and moved along pretty good. Good luck

Thanks. After doing some more research I think I am going to pass. I would like a little more height on the gunnels for the kids.

I have been seeing some newer KW DCs for less. Decisions decisions decisions.

This boat reminds me a lot of my first boat which was a 2003 15ft Triumph with a 60HP Merc on the back. Was a great little boat to start out with. The 60 HP made the boat move along pretty good. But like you said, the lower gunnel heights leave you wishing you had a little more. You also have to be a little more selective on the days you get to go out. If you could go up to an 17-18ft Key West, Maritime, Parker, Maycraft I would recommend it! I love the Key West I have currently, so I wouldn't hesitate to look bigger within their brand of boats.
