Yeah, I'm thinking about sitting this one out. Running from storms in 5' seas just doesn't sound like a good way to spend the day.

Ok,
I have an idea,
All you guys that are wanting to go fishing offshore this weekend.

1). Give me half of whatever you were going to spend on gas and bait.
2). I will take some empty trash cans and put them on my utility trailer and put a person in each one followed by a stale beer and hand full of pogies. You get a hot peanut butter sammich and a hot diet coke for lunch.
3). I'll drive down some rutted gravel roads for an hour or two with my kids beatin on the trash cans with some baseball bats.
4). When someone pukes, we will put a little in each can.
5). If you have to pee, you have to stand up in the can, while we are goin down the road, face into the wind, hold your pecker with one hand and the trash can with the other. Your buddies in the other cans then have to try to grab your hat as it flys off your head, and dodging the spray.
6). If you have to crap, we have some Walmart bags and old socks to wipe with.
7). When the ride is over, you all have to wash and wax my truck, trailer and all the trash cans.
8). On the ride home, you are contractually obligated to tell everyone how much fun you had and that you caught tonnes of fish.

See, I am doing you a favor, same experience at HALF the cost :) :)

It`s not on my dime and we have a private suite. Fully stocked bar and buffet all on the house. Can`t be to bad

Gatorbait - where are you located? Triggerfish are closing in federal waters only, at least in Florida. State waters are still open.

The sea is an demanding mistress,
she will not be taken for granted.
Those who travel on her wavy skirts must obey.
or reside forever in the depths of her soul.
She does not show favoritism as the smallest craft.
to the largest ship must comply with her will.

She can afford safe passage from one.
land to another,
calmly ignoring the presence of the vessels that.
sail across her.
Then on the whim of the wind she can show.
her fury and the journey can be a ride.
through a watery hell.

This lady has the strength to make even the largest.
vessels whine and plead for her mercy.
Struggling to ride her fierce waves.
many a ship has submitted to her will and.
buried their bow into her belly taking down all aboard.

Then as if a warning to others she spits the occasional.
ship onto the shores. The ghostly remains of.
a boat that once sailed her waters and fell.
into her ill favor.
Whipped and beaten its remains are taken by its.
mistress to lay ravaged against some rocky coral.

She has taken the treasures of kings and queens.
and still held ransom the ships and crews of.
those who offered it up to her.
Then at other times she hears the whispered pleas.
of the poorest sailor and permits his return to shore.
Sometimes tossing his thirsty body in her brine.
for days teasing him with her offer of refreshment.

This mistress can also lie perfectly still for days.
holding captive a clipper ship when the winds.
refuse to fill its sails. Then she becomes a.
desert that offers no oasis, no shelter from.
the sun and.
the ship seems bound to her surface as if sinking.
in her wet sands with each attempt to move onward.

She can strike her waves like a mighty whip that.
crashes down on the decks of ships.
Some seemingly coming out of the heavens.
their height so immense.
The size of her being always reminds the sailor.
that he is but a ripple on her body and if he fails.
to heed her commands she will consume him.

Why then do men sail upon her waves?
Is it that she is beautiful and draws men to her.
rocking them with her breathing motion?
Can it be her calming affect as she carries them.
from one shore to another lifting, stroking and.
lapping the sides of their ships?
Is it the challenge to be ridden that she tosses.
out that men must accept and try to meet?

The sea is a mystery mistress and will.
never be fully understood by man.
She remains always in control and those.
that ride her waves must always respect her.
Knowing that her soul is too deep for man to conquer.
and at best he lies a supplicated servant to her wishes.

I have been sitting here all day checking the various forecast sites and radars just hoping that something is going to magically change for the better. It is killing me as I just completed the motor swap on my boat and was hoping to get some time on it beginning this afternoon.

We are finally complete with the refit of our 2007 60 ft Sculley. We will be taking it out the pass tomorrow to see how she handles the rough stuff. Moving the boat to Lost Key, then going to shot out Pensacola Pass and she how she takes the seas in all different directions. Perfect weather to see how she handles.

We left orange beach at 8 am and returned about noon with our two man limit of snaps. Inside ten miles was pretty decent but from ten out it got squirrely.
