Big Rock Propellers in Morehead. They are not in Jarrett Bay.....but they are the ones to call. Very busy to get done right now probably with the Big Rock starting this weekend.

Yes, I have now reached the conclusion they are the ones and they are busy now. Thanks for input.

Thanks, I was hoping to get the boat pulled and propped right there at JB, but apparently that's not in the cards now. Big Rock Props has a great reputation apparently.

Wildcat Propellers in Chesapeake are THE go to guys...

Granted I have a tiny little prop, but Big Rock quoted me a price more than double what I was expecting. So, I'm sure they do good work but I'd be better off just spending an extra $50 and buying a brand new prop before sending them mine.

Is Bull's Prop Shop (728-2740) still there on Orange street with the Condo/Docks coming? I haven't been to the shop in a couple of years, they were always good to me.

Bull's is still there and very reasonable.
What size prop are you talking about?

I have heard they are good, but busy enough not to really try and squeeze me in.

I have used both Bull's and Big Rock. JB was happy to pull my props (30x29) and have them picked up and delivered by/to either one; I think Big Rock is JB's supplier of prop services now. Bull's is old school, does it by feel and decades of experience; Big Rock uses computer scanning and all the modern tools. I go slow, so it is hard for me to say which did better, but if I had a high performance boat I'd probably go with BR. Bull's is almost half the price as I recall.

Based on what I heard at JB and from talking to Bullard - and to others - I think your post above is 100% correct. My boat is not particularly fast - an 89 SF with Detroits - but it is very prop sensitive and load sensitive. The old school is fine, but the old school business practice thing is like pulling teeth when you live 150 miles away from your boat and just want to be able to text or email or make a call and have stuff done. I think it's JB to BR and back to JB for me.
Thanks all for the insights and info. :tht_rulez:
