Strongly considering taking the Sundancer from CLE to Cedar Point for a night, then stopping in either PIB or Kellys in July. Any marina recommendations? We'll need shore power/water as we do not have a generator. Thanks!

Cedar Point has a great Marina and i am pretty sure you can overnight there as well. Close to an entrance gate and they have shore power as well.
We have docked for a day while we enjoyed the park but never over night as we dock around at East Harbor

Back in the day I kept my boat at Sandusky Harbor Marina it is in the bay on the sort of south side. If I storms you can still hit the bay and play untill the wind dies down. They have shore power, pool and hot showers. Kelly's you better get there early, There was a nice resturant on the west side that had dock's and good coffee/ food... no power

If you stop on the west end of Kelly's, the marina is for the West Bay Inn only. I think it's free as long as you stay at the WBI for food/drinks. As I recall, the docks are kind of close together so take it slow. Nothing else on that side of the island.
Portside Marina on the south side of Kelly's is right downtown where all the other bars/restaurants are. Not sure how much $/ft but I don't think it'll break the bank. You can raise them on channel 68 for a dock. They'll guide you right to where they want you.

Yea you are right I was giving him another spot as I knew the ower at the time. We rented bikes and rode all over the Island. There is a quary in the center of the island that is like deep the water is blue as my eyes, There are a ton of things to see. The Portside Marina is nice if you can get a spot, I have been there many times a year. The winery was always nice but I heard they had trouble the year after I left not sure If they are even still there but we would hide from storm cause the docks are in the center of the island..But no power:tht_rulez:

How long have you guys boated on lake erie??? It's kelleys island. not Kelly's. Maybe look at a map/chart. Anyways, Cedar Point has overnight dockage and a simple call will hold you a spot for your boat. I would suggest a reservation as many weekend they fill up. Docks have power just verify your assigned dock does. Good luck and safe travels.

I boated there for many years in the 80's and 90's. The lake can be a hand full if you don't know the tides and storms as I would check for every 15 min cause the waves can kick up very quick. I was being slopy when I said Kelly's it's kelly's Island. I moved to florida now it's the boat ro the Harley year around:)

actually to be correct, it should be capitalized so it would be Kelley's Island. :)

Portside Marina , unless you want to party all night staying there is a nightmare, you will rock and roll all night in your boat. Seaway is the quiet place to stay. I will not ever stay in Portside Marina again.

The transient docks used to be close to the marina members park entrance, showers, restaurant and pool. It is now where the boat show is held and across from the main parking lot....nothing but asphalt and cars in view and a long way from the showers.
If you plan your trip to Kelley's during the week consider the Unique Marker marina and if PIB during the week consider the Crews Nest.
