that's why we have memorial day. we've had soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines pay the ultimate price on every day of the year, so we can't have the flag flying at half-mast every day. as great a feat as d-day was, the lives given that day were no more important than lives given any other. that is to say, they are all equally dear.
