Maybe this has happened longer than I know, but just openned a pack of hooks up to see that they're now made in China, not Norway.
My other Mustad hooks say Norway, but not the 7699D (Shark Hooks)
I'm dissappointed.

Yep... I was on a business trip to Shanghai and took a bullet train to Wuxi to tour a manufacturing plant. As we are leaving the plant about 2 blocks down there sits the Mustad factory. The guys with me told me it was there a couple of years. That was 15 months ago.
Everything is made in China today. Maybe Vietnam or Africa tomorrow.

I looked up Mustad's website the other day and it looks like Mustad was recently sold and is no longer a "family" business. Not surprised to learn of hooks now made in China.

I have 2 new boxes of 7699D hooks, Box says Norway. Old stock maybe?? Time to stock up, I guess.

Sold to another Norwegian company.
