Marine Electronics Forum - Raymarine E series ??

Got a late start on the season and was on the boat for the 1st time yesterday..Upon running elecs. I'm experiencing kind of a strange issue with my 2008 model E80 /DSM 300. /Airmar B744VL transducer... In water under about 10' I am losing my bottom picture.. Digital depth will show, but then sometime begins to flash as it loses signal completely.. When I get deeper than 10', the bottom signal begins to show strong and clear.. I switched form auto, to manual, adjusted gain up/ down, had range set properly.. all to no avail.. After the long winter's absence, I admit to being rusty with it's operation, so maybe I'm missing a setting or something??? Just a bit odd to me that I would lose it shallow, and get it back deep.. kinda opposite of what i would expect.. Hoping you THT tech sharpies can give a clue before I dive back into the tome of the manual.. Thanks in advance! :tht_rulez:

while the df/ff screen is on, goto menu, choose fish finder, then look for DSM, then do a DSM reset.

See if that doesn't do it for you.
