Boating & Outdoor Photos - Pirates Cove vacation pics

Just a few pics from our vacation this past week. Weather was a little sketchy, but we definitly made the most out of our days. We were down from sunday to sunday, fished offshore twice, nearshore once for bsb and aj's. Had a tropical storm come thru and dump 6' in 2 hours. House was fantastic, as they always are in pirates Cove. Did a lot of sightseeing from the boat, touring Broad creek and Pirates cove. Found the "Bigeye" from swords, life on the line TV show over in wanchese. i highly recomend staying at pirates cove in manteo, nc

We jigged the aj's up, then dropped bottom rigs with squid to catch some bsb. The m260 worked good. I still have it connected to my lowrance 111. I feel like it could have performed better, but I believe that the lowrance is holding it back. It would hold bottom to 500', mark thermoclines, and some fish. Hopefully, I'll be able to throw a garmin in the boat one day soon

No, we should have. I've caught many a big sea bass, but that was the biggest I've ever seen by a good little bit. Made some of the other bass look small. Mark, looks like this will be a good weekend to get out. I'm headed to Atlantic City to play in the National amateur poker championship this weekend, otherwise I'd have to fish myself. Good luck.

We stayed in one of the village landing homes. Its about a 12 minutes ride to the inlet.

To me there is no better eating than the bsb. Good work.

i have a place in Avon down on the island, but run out of the cove with friends that have places there alot ,it's a great place

Heading down next Monday for a Father & son graduation present. 6 Dads taking our sons for their first Tuna trip !! Tuesday is beach day, Wednsday is on the Miss Oregon Inlet, Thursday is tuna with our kids (2) boats, Friday is cobia with your son (3 boats), Saturday is Fathers VS sons (2 boats)..
These 18 year old punks think they're tough and want a piece of the old guys !!! These boys have all caught descent fish but none have caught tuna or better yet a bigeye. It'll be nice kicking all their asses.!! Should have some good pics in a week.

I love Pirates Cove. First time I pulled in there was in a SUV was meeting two of my good friends who were bringing thr boat down from NJ. Just lost my job and had nothing but my buddy left $50 and a EZ Pass to take his Expedition down from NJ. Was Oct 2001. It was amazing after reading about the place to pull up and see so many beautiful boats. To top it off we day timed chunked the next day and loaded up. Caught my first yellowfin.
