Another query on the P79 transducer.

This transducer is available with various plugs for different brands of units. Rather than use a plug to change brands is it feasible to cut the plugs out and solder and heatshrink the join ?

Thanks in advance

Snelly

Thanks for that - much appreciated.

By the looks of it, it is only 2 wires a black - and blue + for depth as that is all the P79 does.

Been doing some more research on the P79 . You can get the "old" style with the blue plug and no join which will work with all Lowrance gear. OR you can get the "new" style which has the adapter cable ( I didn't want a join in the cable but I see it is only 2m long so will have no problems keeping it away form moisture ) and is only compatible with HDS units.

Anyway either way is OK with me as I have a HDS .

My Question is - Is there any difference in the transducer itself ?

Thanks in advance

Snelly
