Here's one that got by me..the tachs with twins are set from the factory so that they repeat each other when you are scrolling thru the LCD functiuons with the mode button on either one. If you want it so they don't follow each other and you want to display, say, engine temp on one and gph on the other, here's what you do:

1. hold the mode and right troll button down until it says "quick cal 1"
2. the first option is "remote screens" - it is set to say "yes" - change it to "no"
3. keep hitting the mode button until you exit the setup screens.
4. Now do the same thing for the other tach...

Mine were fine straight out. I only had to set my favorites and tinker with little options like enabling the "favorite slide show" and "trim pop-up."

On my fist try, I could not get the troll control quite figured out - any advice here? I did get it enabled (idle but in gear, then "enable") but could not adjust the rpm on BOTH engines - help?

you must have the SC5000 5 inch scrren systemview if you have favorites - I had this unit but now just have 2 tachs and the speedo gauges....there is no way on troll control to adjust the motors seperately..they go up and down together - and also when in troll control you cannot go back to any other functions...merc working on those changes...

Actually I could only adjust the RPM on either engine, but never both. I'll play with it some more. I must not have been doing something right.

A comment for Merc- why limit the troll control from a range of 550-to-1000 RPM? If livebaiting I'll always be at the minimum anyway. If ballyhoo trolling, I'll always be well above 1000.

spoke to the smartcraft people at the miami show for a long time on their stuff - they fully admit that troll controll is not really needed with the verado throttles as they auto sync anywhere you want to set them. do you have the speedo and tach or the systemview? I don't have a favorites setting on my tach and speedo guages...

reel scream - send me an email at [email protected] - I have a lot of info on verados you'll like...

I am having problems gettting the fuel remaining to read properly. Even after setting the tank capacities, it never seems to read correctly. Has anyone else had this problem?? My local merc guy is also stumped and we need some help! twin 275 verados, two tachs and one speedo...Thanks for your help

yup - same thing happened to me on my new boat - try a master reset and then configure the tanks again - I also have 2 tachs and 1 speedo - master reset them all - THIS WILL NOT SCREWUP YOUR BOAT AND CAUSE YOU TO NEED A TECH RESET THE ENGINE CONFIGUARTIONS. it is kicjk in the autodetect mode and then it will go read the right amt of fuel...email me if youo're still havng problems
