I just bought one after searching for a month. I found it in Mass and paid to have it hauled to FL. I suggest that you seach Craigslist until you find a seller who is reasonable in his asking price/expectations.

I got the boat flipped over right now for removing the copper bottom paint, fixing some small blisters and putting a barrier epoxy coat on the bottom. Once I get it flipped back over, i'll post some pictures.

Yep, what chris said, don't expect someone to give away their boat and trailer along with the hard work they had already put in it.....ie: removing old transom, getting it stripped down, sanded, installing new transom etc. and expect a give away price, like some ppl did!

Relax Newellchunker. I've been PM'ing the OP since yesterday and I already sent him your direction. I told him about your boat earlier this morning and suggested that he contact you. You might/should be getting a call from him rather soon.
You and I couldn't "come together" on what I thought was reasonable but maybe you and the OP can. ;?

Well I just ran across one on www.boattrader.com........ it was a 23' Seacraft Tsunami......guy was asking $800. All I am wanting is the Seacraft hull.....I dont care the model boat it is for it will be stripped down to the bare shell.
But called the guy about the boat.....said it had been on boattrader.com for so long that he just ended up giving it away..... guess I was just a little too late on that one.
Will keep looking!!! I am not looking for someone elses started project.....I am looking for somewhat of an original hull.

Will this be a replacement for the Contender? Or is this to be an addition to your family of boats?

This will replace the Contender when she sells. I am wanting to downsize. The 31' Contender is a really nice boat, but it is just too big for what I do. A smaller boat will make for ease of alot more things for me. We dont run any further than about 60 miles offshore for fishing and I can easily do that in a smaller boat.....cuz I am not going out even in my 31' if its that rough anyways.
If the Contender don't sell, then I will just keep it no biggie....... The 23' Seacraft will just give me a project to work on during my off weeks from work.

I can understand if you have your heart set on a Seacraft, but have you considered a forumula 233? I just saw two on the Cape Cod CL, one was free one was i think 500 or so. Its not a seacraft, but the hull performs just as well in my opinion.

Tuna - Is there a boat that you haven't rebuilt?
If anything comes up during my build, I'll give you a call. Thanks.

Lol just classics and downeasts! Just finshed the 22 Sisu. Taking a year off, kinda burnt out from sanding. Planning my next big move.
There is a 23 in nj Craigslist for 6k with a decent engine. Probably a little over priced but might be worth a shot. If you find anything on long island that needs to be checked out let me know.

Heynow....... great build thread.....I may have to look to you for some pointers when I find me a hull and get started on it. I know nothing about fiberglass, but find that I usually just jump right on into something and learn from my mistakes as I go which is usually how I do things. Along with lots of reading!!!

The boat in Okalossa has been on Craigslist for a month or 2 (at least). The last time I looked at it (on the Internet), it was priced at $1200. Down to $900 (OBO) now.

I got him down to $600, but I think I would rather have a 23' Seacraft CC that is already a center console......instead of converting a Septre over to a CC......less work involved.
