This is probably the old same question, but I have read everything and it does not cover what I need to know, so here it is:

I am installing:
1. Lowrance HDS 8
2. Lowrance LSS1
3. Lowrance G4
4. Standard Horizon VHF with AIS
5. Raymarine s1000

I have all of the equipment mounted and wired EXCEPT for the interconnects. The s1000 has a connector and some colored wires at the distal end. There is no place to plug in that connector on any of my equipment. The G4 and the VHF has colored wires and neither has a connector. I want all of my equipment to interface together. Do I have to buy other items to make all of this work? Where do I plug in that connector? I still have a vacant port on the LSS1. The HDS 8 is (yellow connector) is plugged in to the middle port of the LSS1. The G4 (yellow connector) is plugged in to the top port of the LSS1. Now what do I do with the (colored) interface wires that are left? Do I need another connector? Am I missing something? Does anybody know exactly what I do with the s1000 wires and connector as in where and what I connect these items?
I got the Tx goes to the Rx and all of that but where and how?
I told you I need help...thanks

You will find some helpful advice here http://www.boemarine.com/support/articles/BOE_Marine_Buyers_Guide

The S1000 will connect to the HDS unit via NMEA0183. You'll cut off the serial plug to expose the nmea wires.

The VHF will also connect with nmea 0183. Standard Horizon has some schematics on their site. If you can't find it just call them.

The Lowrance parts all connect with ethernet. These are the yellow cables that are included. There should be nothing else you'll need to buy.

Okay..... I cut off the serial plug and just use the wires needed to hook directly to the HDS 8 head unit for the GPS.I just keep attaching everything G4 and VHF to the HDS, it is the "talker".

Yes, the HDS is the talker. The HDS is not very straight forward to connect to the VHF you have or the S1000. Its been covered a lot though, so just search google to find them. Do searches like "HDS nmea S1000"

I got the radio to talk to the GPS but it does not come up on the "Devices Menu"
G4 Radar won't turn on and that is just hooked straight into the LSS1

Do you have the yellow wake up wire connected on the radar. The vhf is not going to show up on the device list, it is not a nmea2000 device.

Radar, VHF, Sonar and structure scan AOK. The s1000 may be working I don't know. I need to be able to test it with the boat on the trailer. When this last item is up, I can button up the work area and start assembling my boat.
