This post is an update/addendum to my last post ....

Given the cost of fuel and the availability of calm seas in June some quick math quickly convinced me that we could get a lot more bang for our fuel buck with overnighters.
On an average day offshore, you'll fish 8.5 - 9 hours; perhaps 10 if you fish late.
On an overnighter, even if you get a good breakfast and leave a little late the morning of the trip, you're looking at 30 hours of fishing for about 50% additional fuel consumption; basically 3 times the fishing time for 1.5 times the cost.
In addition, we'll be able to fish hours that often produce an excellent bite, 5:00 PM 'til dusk and dawn 'til however long it would have taken you to run where you started at dawn. All this, while most everyone else is either running in or out or sitting at the dock.
Lastly, the idea of hooking of up a sword on a squid fished deep with a cyalume light while drifting at night adds even more appeal.
Bottom line, in addition to day trips, I'd like to set up as many overnighters as possible this season; particularly in June while the fishing is hot.
For additional details, give me a shout at the phone number or email address in my signature.
