This evening I gave my rods & reels a good spray and wipe down with Red Corrosion-X. Some portions of the spools, which are loaded with fresh 80lbs Power Pro Braid got pretty soaked with the Corrosion-X (yeah..not too swift..I know).

It wasn't until I was finished that it dawned on me that the Corrosion-X might damage the line or that the scent might turn fish away.

Does anyone have any experience with this and what was the result?

Please dont tell me I need to strip off >330 yds of braid off 17 rods!

I use it on my reels all the time and occasionally have over-spray onto the braid - no problems.

Seriously..no one else has ever gotten Corrosion-X on their line?

I spray it on to my inshore reels with 10 lb braid. Never had a problem over several years.

Spectra, including PP is very unreactive stuff. Difficult to even Color it other than stock white or even glue it. Due to spectras' nature and difficulty to "dye" the line, you Probably noticed some bleeding of the color after initial uses land/or wax coloration rub offs on the guides which is very normal. any colored spectra will significantly fade over use and time.

Spectra is great stuff and other than due to abrasions, will literally last a lifetime. Which makes me think might not be a great thing in our waters as even mono will eventually breakdown, but that is another issue on its own.

As for the OP, no worries, you can pour just about anything on spectra with little issue to the line.
