Bertram recently announced its move into a new facility in Merritt Island, FL. Although it's hard to believe they left their roots in Miami, this looks like a pretty nice, modern setup. It should be an interesting transition, especially regarding their intent on upgrading/modernizing production technologies. Thoughts?

There have been post about this on THT. They appear to be doubling their under roof space. My opinion is that they knew that they were being hemmed in by all of the building and expansion associated with the new airport Tri-Rail/Metrorail hub and what appears to be a consolidated rental car facility. The yard is the next logical piece of dirt for any ore expansion. They may have figured that it was time to get good money for their land before the county government or airport authority came to take it using imminent domain and left them scrambling to find a new location, but I may be wrong. If nothing else, they may have gotten the facility in Brevard for considerably less that it would have cost to build a new one. I understand that they were looking at several possible locations before they chose this one and the local government entities up there may have done some things to make the choice easier.

A great name and a famous history. I hope it works out well for Bertram.
