Morning THT. I am picking up a new prop today. Replacing my 15 pitch apollo prop with a 17pitch ballistic prop.
Anyone running a ballistic prop and are you happy with the characteristics of this brand prop??
I have a 1990 Proline 21' center console on a bracket with a 150 optimax. She is running about 30 mph gps at 5800 rpms.
Thanks in advance guys!!

Mine runs well. It's really a bass boat prop with good top water bite. The blades are paper thin so be carefull.

I have a 2006 23' hardtop, WA , F250 Yamaha. I changed from an aluminum prop to the Ballistic. Larger diameter & lower pitch than my aluminum. Performance was very noticeable. I went from an inordinately high amount of cavitation, and difficulty getting on plane to no cavitation and getting up and staying on plane. At WOT, with the old prop. and normal load the RPMs were about 5800. With the Ballistic at WOT I cannot top 5400 rpms. Some might say I am putting too much load on the motor, however, I rarely to never run at WOT and now the boat, in normal seas, likes to run at about 3800 rpms. I have no idea how fast I am going, but, I move along very well and can stay on plane in & around 3000rpms. That did not happen with the orginal prop.
Yes, I like the characteristics, but, does it really matter as long as it does what you want it to do.

Sounds like your rpms are a little low on the wot but if it works for you and your happy with it than run it borther! I have alot of cavitation and constantly breaking loose on plane. Takes a little bit to get on plane to and im only seeing 31nmph. I think my set up should be getting at least 38. Guess ill go for it and see how she reacts.
