Hi guys, I have an over sized davit that I use only for my jet skis. The heaviest one is about 750#. I just checked the 4 base bolts and they were all loose. I don't recall for sure but I think they are 1" bolts that expand that I drilled into the concrete. Two of the nuts tightened down good, the other two just turn the whole bolt with the nut, is their a trick to get them seated again. I can not even get the nuts off to replace, and even if I could I hate to take it down, (that mother is heavy) I thought about leaving one bolt holding it in place and swiveling it to replace the loose anchors, and maybe even some type of epoxy the hold them better. Any suggestions?

Try prying up the quick bolt(screwdriver) Or grab the nut or bolt and pull up on it. The purpose of this is to kinda reset the quick bolt just enough so you can spin the nut back down and tighten it up. Just be careful you don't scar the threads when prying.

drill a small hole in the top of the bolt and put a easy out in it and tighten the nut.
IF the bolts were installed correctly you would have 3 thread up past the nut and then you could hang onto the with a pipe wrench .
If the anchors pull out the only easy repair is using epoxy anchors instead of wedge anchors .
Have a picture on the bolts and base

Thanks guys, I like both ideas, I do have about 5 threads left above the nut, I really like the easy out idea, also the bolts are galvanized and only about 2 years old. The other ones turned just fine. Also what are epoxy anchors?
