I changed the engine mounted fuel filter and she started right up for the first time this season. Ran it on the muffs for a while, then she just sputtered out like it was starving for fuel.
Long story short, i was given the wrong o ring for the fuel filter so I had an air leak. Probably ran all the fuel out of the lines and vst tank is what I'm thinking. But, now I can't get it to run again. primer bulb seems like its not right, so I replaced it with a new one, but still no joy.;?
Anyone have any thoughts or ideas on what to try next?
Sounds like it still doesn't have any fuel. Try positioning the primer bulb with the flow arrow pointing towards the sky with no kinks in the fuel hoses. Should pump then.

The bulb is now getting hard and the fuel filter is full. Tried pushing in the valve on the fuel rail and doesnt seem to shoot out, if at all.
Should I hear a sound from the low pressure or high pressure fuel pump when key is turned on? Any way to test the pump?
It's definitely a fuel issue, as it will run on starting fluid. I'm stumped.
Thanks.

Make sure the plastic cup of the onboard fuel filter is tight. I had same issues with my 225 and all it needed waas a 1/4 turn everything is fine now.

It is as tight as I could get it, even took off the complete bracket and screwed it on then re-mounted it on engine.
Thanks.

Yes, you should here the pump cycle when you turn the key to the on position. Do you?

The only thing I hear is a slight hissing sound. Almost like a gurgling of fuel.
Hard to say from here... but I don't think you have fuel in the VST yet.

OK, it turned out to be the fuel filter not seated right or somehow. Took it out and put back in and she ran right away. BUT, it overheated so now I have to work on that issue.
Thanks all!
