Hello all,

Just purchased my first boat, a 2006 21' Sea chaser 2100 Offshore. I've been reading the THT extensively for a while now and finally decided to join for this is my first post. Just finished a flush mount install of the Humminbird 898c SI. Now it's time for the audio....and I have a few questions for this is also my first boat install.

Here is a list of my equipment:
Fusion 700 series head unit
Fusion 5 ch. amplifier
(4) Wet Sounds 6.5 speakers (salt water series)
(1) 10" Wet Sounds subwoofer (salt water series)

My question is speaker and subwoofer placement. I have read numerous threads and viewed all the photos but I figured I'd give it shot seeing that my particular boat has never been discussed.

I'm thinking (and please any criticism or suggestions is wanted!) installing 2 in the corners of the platform upfront facing the rear and the sub and 2 other speakers in the transom area centered facing forward. My first thought which has been suggested several times is under the gunnels facing the leaning post however the reccesed rod holders make that impossible. If I moved the speakers up they would be directional with the CC. Also due to the configuration of the CC it would be difficult to install the speakers low in the CC facing the gunnels.

Would it be beneficial to mount them close to deck in the rear and center the subwoofer or should the area be avoided? And if so, what do y'all find works best.

Ive tried my best to attach photos. I have more if needed.

Thanks in advance and I look forward to participating with you guys on this outstanding Website!
