I have one davit that when I throw the switch the motor turns only about an 1/2 and inch and stops. It still hums like the gearbox is jammed. Any suggestions? These are Davit Master units. 2500 lbs each.

Usually when that happens you've got a switch issue. Check the electrical flow before & after the switch, if there's an interruption you've got a bad switch. Call me when you have a moment so we can discuss further, there are a few more items we will need to go over.

Believe it or not it was a bad wire going to the capacitor.
