I'm sorry to vent..and this is a boating forum...but I just dunno.
I work for a state agency and the office politics have finally resulted in a bad review giving me a potential termination date in half a year. I put in better work than my peers (and I know because we do revolving WP review) and I just get written up for the most ridiculous things; and most of the time they just make things up. My boss told me he "had my back and knew what was going on," but finds is hard to defend me now that these people are still giving me bad reviews.

I work in regulation..anyone know of a good way to approach HR and put a roadblock in the process?

You don't give enough details here. However, in general why fight a losing battle? Why not just get a job working for private industy in regulatory affairs? Industry hires government schmucks all the time to deal with other government schmucks.

Most of those jobs are in compliance(bank regulation), which I think is what you're referring to. Unfortunately, I'm learning that I don't want to deal with Government Schmucks all day and starting as a new hire out of college is unappealing. i suppose that's life. Things could be a lot worse :)
