LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Rock band Van Halen on Thursday postponed more than 30 concert dates of their U.S. summer tour, leading to speculation the "Runnin' with the Devil" group was feuding again.

The band's official website, van-halen.com, took down all its dates after June 26, listing only 15 more shows, ending in New Orleans. Closely-watched fan site, Van Halen News Desk, said 31 dates had been postponed, starting on July 7 in Uncasville, Connecticut and ending on September 25 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

A spokeswoman for the group had no official statement about the postponements and declined further comment. The band began the current tour in mid-February.

They suck and are probably blaming each other for it. Constant drama....

Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony brought relevance and credibility to that band and it showed in their concerts during that era. Could DLR really have written "Right Here, Right Now" or "Dreams" or "Mine all Mine"? Now way in hell.

Now they are just a bunch of disjointed maladjusted has-beens who had a couple of hits in the 80s.

Save yerself a lot of heart-ache. Just fly to Cabo and see Sammy there. He still rocks. Everybody else sux. Was the worst band I ever saw in concert and that was in1981. Eddie could barely stand up, had a bottle of Jack in his hand. Stops in the middle of "Jamie's Crying" with a stupid look on his face and stands there.. "Whooooaaaa, man! I forgot the F'in words!!"

There's like three words to the whole song? Good grief... we got up and left. :roll

LOL. Eddie did not sing. That was Dave. He did that in Miami too, IIRC. Sounds like you fell for the staged "Dave is hammered" routine. Did he also do the "best weed on the planet" bit in Arizona?;)

I saw them in 84', funny thing is I can't remember anything.;?

I have some friends in FL that went to one of the concerts in April I think, and they said it was better than they expected. Oh well, guess I can catch the Nugent, Styx and Reo tour in Va Bch.

I would rather see Sammy or his latest post-VH band Chickenfoot over the new/old VH. I was a big fan in the 80's but like my long hair, it's time has passed.

This was happens when a great guitarist from the 80's stays sober, good music!

I have it on good authority that Eddie is still riding the sober train. The band can't stand to look at Dave at this point, let alone play on stage with him for an hour and a half. I've seen both Van Halen, and Van Hagar numerous times. Van Hagar doesn't compare to the late seventies, early eighties Van Halen.

Dave has lost anything that resembles a voice, painfully obvious in this youtube clip:

DLR looks more like Britney Spears than the front man of a (once great) rock-n-roll band.

Sad.

Dear Lord!!!!:o

Music endures; the people who make it don't.

It's alot like bathing suits - there is a point in time when folks should stop wearing them in public.

I grew up not far from where the Van Halen boys are from. No offense but they sucked then and they suck now. I wouldn't go see Van Halen if they were playing in my garage.

PS. You're actually lucky they post poned this tour, save yourself some time and money.

Vintage 1982. Shows how a great band can make any fool look good. Never was a DLR fan:

Never thought too much of Diamond Dave, to be honest. I for one was glad to see SH join the band, as I always thought he was a much better singer than DLR. As a drummer myself for 35+ years, I feel bad for AVH, because he still kicks ass on the kit.

I've checked out this new VH stuff on YouTube, but it's painful. I will say that Wolfie has definitely gotten better since the first tour he did...but the vocals are hideous, IMHO.

YMMV.

I saw Van Halen a few years back. They sucked. Dave was the worst part of the show. In contrast I saw Chris Cornell Sunday doing his one man acoustic "Song Book" show. The guy is unbelievable. He hit every note with that insane voice for 26 songs. A true professional musician and a pleasure to watch unlike that Van Halen mess.

So you are saying that DLR is essentially a "wanna-be" singer then? Good...I see we can at least agree on THAT much.

Do you not judge live shows?

Won tix and just saw them recently.

Dave was a power singer and has no power now. Over blowing all night. He was ok when he stayed within himself. Just ok.

Alex rocked. Wolfie attacked the bass just like EVH does the guitar. Backing vocals were loud in the mix and bailed out the vocals.

EVH looked sober and played great. Good for him.

Totally agree on the vocals. Michael Anthony was the only real singer. Great Bass player and vocalist. His absence is obvious.

I'd rather go to a "Backstreet Boys" concert - in the NUDE - and have to sit on RAZORED BARBED WIRE SEATS for 4 HOURS than have to "endure" ANY form of DLR. :roll:Q What a POS! :nono:

I always thought that HE thought EVERYTHING was all about HIM. :nono:

i saw them on the last tour and they were pretty good, but i usually get to see bands early on before they run out of Ensure. I saw ZZ Top a couple of years back for what was, IIRC, the second show of the tour and they sounded better than i had heard them since BEFORE Eliminator when I saw them on the tail end of the Deguello tour the summer of '81 right before the released El Loco. And I had seen them 4 times in between. Same with Page and Plant on the second tour they did. Plant hadn't sounded that good in years, but it was the first tour of the show. You have to pick an choose when you see these geezer bands. Most of the singers can't last a full tour. IMO, Steven Tyler, Roger Daltrey and Geddy Lee are some of the only guys who were still able to sing in a way that resembled their early work when they got old. Some guys voices changed significantly even before they got "really" old, like John Fogerty and Burton Cummings,
