We've been planning to make a run out of Cocodrie on Saturday. This will be the maiden voyage on the "new" 30' Scarab. Being the first run, we were hoping for some really calm conditions... do any of you more experienced guys have a feel for what it will be like out there on Saturday? I'll be following NWS, windfinder.com, and buoyweather.com pretty closely for the next 2 days, but I'm afraid that we'll just have to look at a buoy on Saturday morning to make the go or no go decision.

Is anyone else planning to head out? We're going to leave from a camp in cocodrie and head SE towards MC, assuming that the weather lets us.

reefcast....looks to me like it will start getting "bumpy"....2-3s by early afternoon. East wind 10-15kts
maybe be a little wet with a quartering sea. give it another day and check it. you could always regroup and just run south and fish the shelf for mangroves and cobia

Wish I had read this sooner, guess it's a little late. I was out there Fri and it was 1 1/2-2 ' Fri, building, then laying down a little toward noon. Weird, blowing out of the NNE. Gusting out of the East.
