Hi

I want to connect a mouse GPS NMEA0183 receiver that uses a RS232 by USB. Using a 12 to 5V adapter I can make it work but when I connect both signal wires to incoming port of an hds5 it doesn't work.

I've been reading manuals and 5" units only have a RS422 port, anyone knows if there's a way to make it work?

Is the signal different in RS422 and RS232 even when both outputs are NMEA0183?

I also have a LVR880 with incoming NMEA port, don't know if it's 232 or 422. In case I connect it to this LVR880, will it share gps data on the NMEA2000 net?

Another possibility (if it works) could be connect it to this VHF using NMEA0183 and using output to incoming HDS NMEA0183 port. This should work in case that LVR880 and HDS ports and compatible.

Any idea?

In advance, thanks
