I installed a Garmin VHF200 this weekend. Everything went smoothly with the exception that the radio comes on when I turn my battery switch on. It seems like this shouldn't be happening. I would expect the radio to only come on when I hit the power switch on the unit. Does this sound like a problem or am I missing something obvious? Thanks.
Check page 31 of the owners manual:
Turning the Auto Power-On Setting On or Off
1. Press the MENU key.
2. Select the SYSTEM>AUTO POWER-ON.
3. Select ON or OFF.

Yep, it is a feature for Auto Power ON. You can turn it off.

All components in the Garmin system have this function. I have turned it off for all of them on my system.

Except the 4212, I would love for it to auto on.
