I am guessing you already checked with the local dealers for the part? I have no good information for you.

yeah, no one really has one. Found a couple used ones, but these guys down here are very proud of them, and they are not even the magnum cases.

I have a magnum case at home in my garage

I am pretty sure you can use any V6 gearcase from the mid 90's up. It won't be a Magnum but it will work to get you through your vacation.

Give Dusky Sport Center in Dania Beach a call. I am sure they have new Magnum lower units in stock. They might even have a used one.

thanks, i am almost positive that any case from 96 and up will work, 90 degree motor

actually got a very generous offer to use a 35 contender for the rest of trip here.

Just the term BRP gave to the new gear cases they started building once they took over from OMC. Its a lot stronger of a lower unit, big heavy duty gears.

I think they needed them. I always felt the lower units were the weak point in the OMC outboards.

I put 2500 hours on my last pair of E-Tecs before I sold the boat. Original lower units never serviced other than changing oil. Not many lower units will last that long without needing some kind of repair. At least none of the earlier OMC lower units.

yeah, the older case doesnt seem to hold up on the higher HP motors with larger hulls.
