Do you actually need to get to the coast guard station or just want to get inside to Still Pond?

At 4 feet you are going to be pushing it either way. Most of the bigger boats stay on the outside and then take their tenders inside. I went in last year with my 28' outboard boat and was a little nervous at some of the depth readings and kept trimming the motors up.

There was one large boat in there - probably around 36'-40' but it was directly in the channel so when I got to it I just turned around and left.

The coast guard station is to the left up in a cove and based on the charts I had, it only showed about 2' feet max over there.

Oh, I had not heard about the possible shoaling. I have a friend who goes there every weekend he is on the water. I will see if I can get in touch with him and let you know. I have not been yet this year so I dont have any first hand knowledge.

Anyone have any information on whether Still Pond is accessible back behind Coast Guard STation.
Can it accomodate a boat draft of 4 feet???

I can't believe I forgot to ask my friend when I saw him last. Sorry about that. I just got off the phone with him. He has been there already this year and said he wont be back anytime soon. He said Still Pond is all messed up. He said the sand bars were all over the place and debris was everywhere. He said a few smaller boats went in and out, but no larger boats at all. They either stayed to the outside of Still Pond or left and went somewhere else.

I doubt it, its tight getting the CG 25's in there we usually idle in with one trimed all the way up and the other at half. ill ask the active guys if there are any plans to re dredge it.

This really sucks as this is our favorite place to go because its protected, has a great sandbar and generally quiet. Need to push to have this corrected and fixed. Whats amazing is that the gas tax thats imposed for marinas that sell gas is suppose to be going to a fund for local dredging. Is this happening???

It was dredged about 3-4 years ago but it sounds like Irene messed that all up, I think it was done it about 4-5 years before that so they might be coming up on doing it again.

All. Took the dinghy over to still pond on Sunday. Had a long pole and did some depth checks. All looked great. No real changes from years past in getting in behind the coast guard station. The channel coming in had two temp markers other than that. All looked great. No debris. And sand bar is where it was last year.

Heading up there for duty this weekend but I did talk to the guys in engineering and it was supposed to be dredged earlier this year but they found it needed more than the original permits so they are waiting on the new proposed permits to be approved and will start dredging later this year.

Why not head to Lloyd's creek?
