2001 Grady White Tournament 192 with 2001 Yamaha 175HP 2-stroke and like new aluminum 2005 trailer.

Shopping for a used boat is frustrating -- often they look great in the pictures, but when you show up you discover someone's heap of deferred maintenance, or a boat that looks nothing like the pictures in person. Often the purchase price is just the start of what you will have to spend to bring a boat up to your standards. The boat I am selling here is truly READY TO GO. I have spared no expense on maintenance and upkeep. This boat has been professionally marina maintained both spring and fall every year I have owned it, and I have all receipts to prove it. The engine was tuned up every year, with annodes and plugs replaced every other year -- despite the fact that the boat was hardly used! I bought the boat with 87 hours on it about 4 years ago and have added far fewer than 100 hours myself. The boat was stored on a rack at Maciel Marine in Vineyard Haven, it was never moored. The prior owner never moored the boat either, it's never been bottom-painted and has the original gel coat factory finish.

Recent investments include:

$1,100 for spring commissioning and full detail (April 2012)
$1,500 for new custom cushions (May 2012) -- that's right, this boat has BRAND NEW cushions that I have not even used!
$400 for a new Garmin 441 GPS and depth sounder (May 2012)
$400 for a new helm chair and lounge seat (April 2012) The helm chair still has the tag on it!
New depth sounder (transducer) summer 2011
$110 for new Clarion marine speakers (May 2012) -- old ones were starting to rust but still worked

Why did it need new cushions? The cushions were 12 years old, so the vinyl was at the end of it's life and had a couple split seams.

About the boat: Did I mention that it has ALL NEW CUSHIONS? This makes the boat look like new, and will delight and impress your family and guests. New cushions are not a trivial investment, they need to be custom made.

The boat has a swivel-eze removable ski pylon. That cost about $650 installed
The boat has a live well
The boat has a cooler under one of the bow seats
All electronics work
The boat has a VHF radio with an offshore whip antenna
The boat has a blue bimini top
The trailer is "as new", the tires have virtually no miles on them, and there is a spare as well. The winch and the trailer jack are both as new
The boat has a blue "generic" cover I got from the prior owner, it's not in great shape, some of the straps are missing their buckles
The boat has a Sony CD marine radio that works great!
The boat has 2 batteries, one of which was replaced spring of 2011. The batteries were removed from the boat and left on a tender every winter
The boat has been shrinkwrapped and properly stored each winter with the engine winterized (have receipts to prove)

The downsides:

There are a couple chips in the gelcoat around the gunwales on the boat -- maybe 2 or 3 chips of a couple millimeters each
There are a couple small rust stains on the gunwales. This is from the fasteners in the bimini resting on the gunwales when the top is folded down. I have some rust stain remover and will take a shot at it this weekend.
There are a couple rust stains around where the speakers are mounted. The old speakers had begun to rust around their margins. I pulled the old speakers out, but there is slight rust staining
The boat console switches have sun fading, as do the engine decals
When I replaced the lounge seat, the new base was too short, so I reused the existing base. This means no new holes in the floor, but also means the vinyl on the base of the lounge is older looking. You can have it recovered if it bothers you -- it's just stapled on
The boat is on Martha's Vineyard. You will need to make a ferry reservation for your car and the trailer to remove it, count on a couple hundred bucks for that. If you want to come see it, I will pick you up at the ferry and drive you to the boat.

In terms of price, a new version of this boat (Grady White Freedom 192) costs upwards of $58K. You can certainly find a fish and ski boat for less, but a Grady represents the ultimate in quality. That means fewer issues, easier resale, and more time on the water versus dealing with problems.

Most 20-foot Grady's that you will find for sale year 2000 or newer are going to start at $22K plus and will have an unknown list of issues. This boat has NO ISSUES, no stories, and is 100% ready to go, you will not be disappointed.

Don't let this one go!
