Heading up north in the ICW, considering going offshore from Oregon Inlet to Atlantic City.
How would the inlet be for a 40' trawler, 4 ' draft?
Thanks.

Follow some of the charter fleet out be in creek at:30 am and hail them and someone will gladly help you. Very nice folks there.
Once you get under the bridge you will be fine, the inlet is pretty straight and well marked from the bridge to the seabuoy. Should have 10ft min anywhere there at the lowest tide. However, from the ICW to the bridge can be tricky. There is not much margin for error in the channel. I might follow someone on that section. If you are a boat US or seatow member, give them a call as they are there daily and know all the current conditions. Our inlet can change on a sometimes daily basis. They might even give you an escort through to the ocean.
