The 2012 Hyannis Tuna Fest is fast approaching. This years event is shaping up to be twice as big as last year. Looks like fun, judging by the reaction the Striper Tourney thread got these guys are not gonna like a fishing tournament that fish are killed.

Its a release based tournament...points per fish caught. Boat with MOST fish caught wins. Boats can weigh fish for calcuttas but the emphasis is on release. The bluefin tuna limits are incredibly stringent as it is...so there wont be a lot of fish killed regardless.

We recently signed on live music every night! ...which includes the Tuna Fest Allstars..members from The Old Silver Band, Daniel Byrnes, and Commonwealth. Lobster dinner on Thursday...and steak and bikinis on Saturday..;cool;

You may already know this, but a Calcutta is a "side bet" placed between entrants in a fishing tournament. It can be to win the whole tourney or to just a specific category. Boats are not required to enter Calcutta's however most often most boats do enter.

Almost all major tournaments have Calcutta's.
