Going to be headed to Perdido Key Fl for family vacation Aug 11-18th. I will have the kiddos and other family members that don't fish often so I figure snapper may be the best option for the days where they all pile in.

I noticed alabama has a lot of reef structure to fish.

Are there different state regs on snapper fishing like here in Texas? If so, would someone mind sharing. For example, here is Texas the state line is 9NM offshore. You can keep 4 per day up to 15".

Any other fishing tips for over that way would be welcome too.

Thanks

Snapper Regs in Alabama and Fl are Fed regs. There is no State season in either State. Snapper will be closed in August while you are there. Plenty of other stuff to catch though.

Thanks for the info. Man, I would think with all of that structure it would be hard to get past the snapper to catch much of anything else on the bottom. They have certainly done a good job with their reef program. I wish Texas would get its act together.

You can't , you have to change your way of thinking to catch anything other than the Red snapper , and they have eat about everything else !!
