Jim, I don't think you can do a trolling motor ducer but am not sure.

Hey Jim, I am looking into getting another gps/ff combo, and I'm looking to spend around 500 bucks. I'm interested in garmin, humminbird or lowrance. There are just so many choices out there its hard to pick one. I was looking at the garmin 431s 441s and the 541s. I know 2 have the 4in screen and the other is 5in but other than that what are the differences and what do you recommend? I also was looking at the lowrance elite 5 I think it is. Is this a good unit? If I can find a higher quality unit used within my budget I may go that route.. I seen someone selling a lowrance unit on here with the 7in screen and was considering that one as well. Any input would be helpful. We will be using this unit offshore and inshore.

I think screen size is very important. I do not like the 4" units. Most people that get a 4" unit regret it. I would suggest the 541S to you if you are mainly cruising. And the Elite-5 or HDS-5 if you are mainly fishing.

Thanks for the response, we only use the boat for fishing.. Is the Furuno 1850 DGPS a decent unit? Someone is selling one on here for 400.

Its 10 years or so old, but its an ok unit. Its a decent FF and an adequate chartplotter.
