A friend brought over a fishing rod because he thought the one that held my Penn wasn't up to his standards. Actually, he owes me a small favor and this must have been the payment.
He said it's made from pig skin (custom rod about 9' long).
Supposedly, a rod made of pig skin won't snap in very cold weather. Was he telling tall tales or not? ;?

He's not the kind of guy that tosses around BS, though.
Anybody know a custom rod maker that would know forsure about this?

I just sent a message to the Custom Rod Builder's Guild. Either I'll get information about those rods, or the guy will get a good laugh at how some people might believe anything :grin:
