Does this ad ring any warning bells like the aftermarket carb kit? Anyone know about what type of tranny (guy said its automatic) it has or anything about these? Its a bit of a drive for me so looking for some info ahead of time. Its also air cooled. I have been told they have snowmobile type auto trans with belts and pullys and such..????

looking for a working quad that can go slow in and work out back in rocky backyard and trails - he says it has the hi/lo range gearing

Thanks fo any input. Haven't had one for about 10 years...

Try and find a Honda quad. We have been running them for 20 plus years here in south Louisiana and they have held up the best. Put stabil in the gas and they start every time.

I am sure that is true !! - clean honda's seem to be gone by the time I call.....

Thanks...

Tranny is a CVT (belt). My 700 Prairie has same type. I run the SHIT out of it and it's been GREAT to me. Go check it out.

I have the same machine I bought new in 06. Use it for trail riding, the machine has been 100% reliable. I have it tuned up once a season by the dealer, only part I ever replaced was a new battery last year.

How many of the 600 miles have been with it plowing snow? That is the only thing that jumped out at me.

I'm not sure about that model but I had a KFX700 (2WD). No issues whatsoever. All things considered it could take far more abuse than I was willing to test. One of the few vehicals to ever intimidate me. :o

I have no issues plugging their ATV's.

That V-twin's a beast ain't it!!??
I have a HMF exhaust on mine and it added a LOT of low end torque and sounds like a small block V8. My brother in law has a Yamaha Bruin and is scared to ride my 700 Prairie.

That thing was stupid quick. I had to get rid of it before I died... no kidding. Its one of the few rides that you WILL let off the throttle before winding it out....

i think thats a little pricy for the 360. I never liked lifted ATV's. Besides that I always owned praires and love them.

Lifts generally lead to premature wear of drivetrain parts ecause you change the angle of the shafts and such. I'll admit I'm biased towards Honda quads. Had an old rancher we used on our property and a neighbor then bought from us and used on his farm for years. It had 9300 hours on it, yes 9300, when it finally quit. I now have a Honda Rincon and I use it more than most people - I have a bit over 600 hours (3100 miles on the odo) and replaced the battery. That's it. It'll probably need some bearings next year but I do very little trails riding - most of those hours are trudging through the woods, through creeks, over trees, etc. Not an easy life. They just never let you down - and guys usually hang on to them for that reason.

Thanks for the reviews. Is a stage one carb kit somehitng that is gonna cause internal trouble in the long run like over heat or somehting with the extra fuel charge - or is "stage one" kinda mild???? I guess that is my main concern about buying a modified vehicle. yes I also think it's a bit $$ - hopefully when I see and show interest - it its negotiable - (and good input on the lift)

thanks again - I'll check back here after workk before I go up to look.

No idea what is done to a "stage 1" carb. But stage 1 is usually the mildest. I would be more worried about the lift then the carb.

Go here and skip to the bottom of the page for "stage" explanations.

Stage 1 is absolutely basic. Nothing to worry about it harming your engine or fuel consumption for that matter.

Oh, I know! Usually when I get to 62-63 I hear a voice say "Wife, Son, Business!" and I let off. Usually!
I've seen 69 on it though.

Grunt, I think that price is a little steep, too. Hell, I paid $3500 for my '05 700 Prairie Team Green that only had 64 hours on it! I'm in agreement with the others about the lift, too.
