Got the new boat and all the electronics. Bought an HDS-7 and a Sonichub, but I can't get the Sonichub to power up. I have updated the software in the GPS and have the unit connected properly, as far as I can tell. Anyone else have issues with this one? Please help...

How does your SH power itself on? Does it come on when you turn your HDS7 on or is it on its own switch or is it connected straight to its own power source. Taling in regards to the YELLOW wire.

Next question is it correctly connected to your N2k backbone and is the backbone turned on? If its not then the SH will not function correctly.

After a little more research, I don't have the NMEA starter kit (Backbone) connected. Will purchase the kit and try once again. Thanks for the reply..

I almost did the same thing...

Thinking that because I didn't have any other NMEA devices I could just run an NMEA cable between the sonic hub and the screen...luckily someone warned me that I need the $50 kit and you then had power up the backbone to make them talk.
