By counting the wings and legs, then dividing by four, then adding the number of eyes visible then dividing THAT number by the number of boats visible, I came to 623.

Ha! Goes to show what you guys know! I actually enlarged it, section by section, and counted them in photoshop. There are exactly 2,388,122 gulls in that pic. :)
